Think a family photoshoot will be awkward and uncomfortable? Think again…

Children. we love them fiercely, so much our hearts might burst, right? We love every little freckle on their body and every little hair on their head. We love everything about them, just the way they are.

Well……almost just the way they are. I mean, there are some things we could live without. Like their ability to find the teeniest, tiniest piece of onion in the spag bol you lovingly slaved over for hours, yet they can’t find their school shoes ever. When they are in the same place. Every. Single. Day.

Or how they can only watch TV sitting upside down (just my kids?)

My youngest daughter once spent almost an entire holiday wearing nothing but her nighty after refusing to wear any of the clothes SHE had chosen to bring. True story.

So when you think about taking your perfectly imperfect kids to a photographer, you have visions of full on sibling war breaking out when the photographer instructs your little darling to ‘just place your hands on your sister’s shoulders’. And said hand accidentally on purpose gets a liitle bit too close to her sister’s hair. And maybe just gives it a tiny pull……help!

Or else you imagine some crazy hyper photographer who surely moonlights as a presenter on Cbeebies. Headache.

Not only do you want the ground to open up and swallow you, but the photos you do get, don’t actually represent your family very well at all. I mean, when was the last time you all stood in formation in front of a white wall and smiled manically??

But it doesn’t have to be like this!

After all, you love your kids just how they are, quirks and all. So wouldn’t it be brilliant to capture memories of them just how they are? To remember and treasure their little personalities, always? I know I do (And yes, there is a photo of Gracie in her nighty, pride of place on my wall)

I don’t need them to behave perfectly to capture perfect photos of them. I just need them to do what they love to do best. Because don’t you want to capture them being their usual crazy selves? I know this is how I want to remember my kid’s childhoods.

A photoshoot with me will be a fun adventure in an outdoor space. They will be able to (and encouraged to!) run, play games and mostly just have fun, as well as doing what kids really want to do most of all- spend quality time with mum and dad, complete with snuggling and tickling! And this will result in heart warming photos that capture the real spirit of your family.

Book a consultation with me today to find out whether I’m the right photographer to capture your tribe (don’t worry- no sleazy sales talk at all -I promise!) We can talk on the phone, meet for a cuppa or chat over messenger, whichever woks best for you.
